ABOUT ABOUT

Parents and Caretakers, please join us for this free seminar given by Karen Velocci, Director of Technology and Fireman Jason Brown.

What happens if there is a fire in your home? Are you prepared for the emergency and have you planned WHAT TO DO and the best path to safety? Probably not, because no one thinks it could happen to them! We know it can.

Now add having a child with autism in the home. Does your child understand a fire emergency and would they follow an evacuation plan?

Karen will talk about autism and other special needs, and introduce technology supports to ‘teach’ and ‘practice’ an emergency situation. Children with special needs have challenges that can interfere with successful responses and we need to give them supportive tools to better ensure their safety, as well as the safety of those around them.

Karen is proud to be joined by Fireman Jason Brown who will talk about first responder duties, understanding autism and other special needs, and how we can best prepare for a fire emergency.
